But you will also get closely in touch with Mother Nature by planting a Mountain Almond Tree in Sarapiquí which is the principal nesting and feeding tree of the famous great green macaw. Moreover, if you watch carefully, you may either be able to spot many of the different colorful birds and butterflies, or just run into a wandering sloth, a monkey, or a coati. You will also have the chance to taste chocolate in many different ways and become a true connoisseur of the legendary cocoa tree’s noble fruit. And depending on the season, you might be able to witness one of our nature’s most beautiful ceremonies: the spawning of the Green Sea Turtle in Tortuguero National Park.

In the sustainable Selva Bananito Lodge, you will experience a unique combination of nature and comfort off the beaten track. And both beach lovers as well as active visitors and animal observers will get their money worth in the well-known Cahuita National Park. In the afternoon, you will have the option of a highly recommended excursion through the farms around Casa Turire. Or if you prefer, you can jump into the cool and crystal-clear waters of the Pejibaye River and participate in a category I-II rafting tour, which offers both rapids and peaceful moments during which you can lose yourself in the gorgeous landscape of the riverbanks.
