DAY 1
MANAGUA – TRANSFER IN (-)
Individual arrival at the international airport in Managua. Your driver will await you and drive you to your hotel in the colonial jewel of your trip: Granada. Granada is one of the oldest colonial cities on the American continent.
DAY 2

MADERAS VOLCANO – KAYAK TOUR (B)
Day at leisure. Relax by the pool or take a refreshing dip in the seemingly endless Lake Nicaragua.
Or, if you prefer a more active start to the day, go on a volcano hike with your tour guide. After a short drive to Finca El Porvenir, you will discover impressive petroglyphs. Later, hike through various plantations up to the viewing platform on the eastern side of the Maderas Volcano. The two-hour climb is rewarded with a spectacular panoramic view.
In the afternoon, enjoy a kayak tour on Lake Nicaragua. First, you paddle along the shore to the mouth of the Istian wetland. Observe herons, kingfishers and many other bird species at close quarters.
DAY 5
OMETEPE – MONTEVERDE/COSTA RICA (B)
After the border formalities in Peñas Blancas, your journey continues to the cloud forest paradise of Monteverde in Costa Rica. At Las Juntas, the sometimes bumpy road begins, leading up to one of Costa Rica’s most famous cloud forest reserves. On the way, you will enjoy impressive views of the green mountains and the Gulf of Nicoya.
DAY 6
MONTEVERDE – LA FORTUNA (ARENAL VOLCANO) (B)
Continue your journey towards La Fortuna. The route takes you along the picturesque Lake Arenal, a reservoir that blends harmoniously into the surrounding landscape.
On arrival, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a dip in the thermal springs.
DAY 7
ARENAL NP & NIGHT TOUR (B/D)
Today, hike through the Arenal National Park, always with a view of the majestic volcano. The trail takes you through a small section of forest to an impressive lava field that was formed during the eruption in 1968.
Afterwards, adventurous guests can take part in an optional zipline tour (not included).
In the late afternoon, you will set off on another exciting excursion: a night walk with cultural exchange. Experience the fascinating diversity of the tropical rainforest at night. Look out for colourful tree frogs, lizards, insects, birds, and other nocturnal animals. During the tour, a delicious refreshment awaits you: freshly squeezed sugar cane juice. Finally, you will enjoy a traditional Costa Rican dinner, prepared in a wood-fired oven.
DAY 8
LA FORTUNA – TORTUGUERO (B/L/D)
Afterwards, you and other international guests will set off in the lodge bus towards La Pavona and Caño Blanco. On the way, you will learn interesting facts about the banana cultivation that characterises this region. Boat transfer to the lodge through a wide network of rivers and canals amidst lush nature. Lunch at the jungle lodge.
In the afternoon, you can either relax by the pool or visit the village of Tortuguero with your guide. There, you can visit the Sea Turtle Conservancy (entrance fee: USD 2 per person, not included), which is dedicated to protecting endangered sea turtles.
Between July and September, you can take part in an optional beach walk in the late evening to watch the sea turtles lay their eggs. An unforgettable experience!

DAY 9
TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK (B/L/D)
Return to the lodge, where a delicious breakfast is waiting for you. Afterward, take a relaxing walk through the lodge’s garden.
In the afternoon, another boat tour awaits you, giving you yet more new impressions of this fascinating water world.
DAY 10
TORTUGUERO – PUERTO VIEJO DE LIMON (B/L)
The boat takes you back to La Pavona or Caño Blanco. Here, change to the comfortable tour bus, which will take you further along the Caribbean coast to Puerto Viejo de Limón, a small village with a relaxed, Caribbean flair.
Check-in and afternoon at leisure. Enjoy a drink in a reggae bar and soak up the atmosphere. There are numerous local restaurants in the village for dinner, which you can discover individually. The beaches of the Caribbean coast are also perfect for enjoying the tropical climate and relaxed atmosphere of this unique region.
DAY 11
PUERTO VIEJO – COCOA PLANTATION – BOCAS DEL TORO/PANAMA (B)
Visit a cocoa plantation that is over 100 years old. Here, you learn everything you need to know about the cultivation of the cocoa fruit and also get to taste it!
Then drive via Bribrí to the border in Sixaola, where you cross to Panama on foot over a bridge. In Guabito, the journey continues to the harbour town of Almirante. Water taxi ride of about 30 minutes to the main island of Colón in the small town of Bocas.
Bocas del Toro is a group of idyllic islands lapped by the clear, fish-rich Caribbean Sea. In Bocas town, you will find cozy bars, restaurants, souvenir stalls, and shops. Enjoy the relaxed, typically Caribbean atmosphere. The main attractions are the secluded beaches and the underwater world, which is great for diving or snorkelling.
DAY 12
RED FROG BEACH BOAT TOUR (B)
Later, continue to the island of Bastimentos.The island consists largely of mangroves and jungle. There are no roads or airstrips, which is why the island can only be reached by boat.
Isla Bastimentos is home to one of the most famous beach in Bocas del Toro, the “Red Frog Beach”, which takes its name from the red poison dart frogs. The beach is not only popular with tourists, but also with surfers.
DAY 13
BOCAS DEL TORO – PANAMA CITY + CITY TOUR (B)
Transfer to Bocas del Toro airport and one-hour flight to Panama City. Start of your Panama City Tour with the first stop at the Miraflores locks of the Panama Canal. Here you will gain a first insight into how the famous Panama Canal works and its dimensions. The Panama Canal is one of the most important waterways in the world.
The tour then continues along the banks into the historic old town. Today, the oldest facilities and buildings of the modern city can be found here. On a walking tour, you will see many unique colonial buildings, some of which are still largely in their original state and others have been lovingly and colourfully restored. The historic quarter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many new bars, rooftop terraces, restaurants and hotels have opened here. Finally, visit the ruins of Panama Viejo from the 16th century (closed on Mondays), which were destroyed by the pirate Sir Henry Morgan in 1671.
DAY 14
PARTIAL CROSSING OF THE PANAMA CANAL (B/L)
