Where will you be staying during your Costa Rica Honeymoon Adventure
You start your honeymoon at boutique hotel Grano de Oro in San Jose. From here, you travel by minibus and raft to the beautiful riverfront lodge of Pacuare Lodge, one of the most luxurious eco-lodges in Costa Rica, if not the world. The lodge’s idyllic location, nestled between the Pacuare River and pristine rainforest, facilitates an array of outdoor options. After your rafting adventure, you’ll enjoy a luxurious stay in the Caribbean beach town of Puerto Viejo. Here, the characterful Hotel Aguas Claras will be your home for 3 nights.

TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1
SAN JOSE – TRANSFER IN (-)
Individual arrival at the international airport of San Jose (SJO). Reception by our airport guide. He/she will hand you over your travel documents. Afterward private transfer to your boutique hotel Grano de Oro. The rest of the day is all yours to spend it as you please and to get a good rest because tomorrow the adventure begins.
DAY 2
SAN JOSE – PACUARE LODGE (B/L/D)
You will be picked up in a comfortable minibus and transported through the old capital city of Cartago and the lush green farmlands blanketing the slopes of the Irazú and Turrialba volcanoes. After arriving at the Pacuare River, expert guides will provide you with the necessary rafting gear before you set off on your rafting adventure. The river passes through scenic canyons where crystal clear waterfalls plummet down into the rapidly coursing river below. After about 1.5 hrs you’ll arrive at your lodge that blends in perfectly with the surrounding nature. The afternoon is at leisure. Relax or go on a jungle hike.
DAY 3
PACUARE LODGE (B/L/D)
Wake up to the sound of hundreds of different animals. The lodge’s own resident naturalist guide will provide you with unique insights into the native plant and animal world. Later you can choose from various optional tours, e.g. guided hikes through lush rainforest, a visit to the Cabecar Indians where visitors may participate in a cultural exchange with a shaman, or the Adventure Canopy Tour where visitors glide through a tropical rainforest canopy.
DAY 4
PACUARE – PUERTO VIEJO (B/L)
After a delicious buffet breakfast, you will launch the rafts again. Rafting the second portion of the river is even more thrilling as you experience a mixture of class III and class IV rapids, surrounded by spectacular scenery. You may stop to explore side streams that lead to striking waterfalls and pools with a natural waterslide that tempts you to jump right in. How do you feel to have conquered one of the wildest and most scenic rivers in the world? You continue via 4WD and later private transfer to the Caribbean coast.
DAY 5
PUERTO VIEJO DE LIMON (B)
Day at leisure.
Relax at your beautiful hotel or dive deep into all the activities this magical area has to offer. The most important nature reserves in the region are Cahuita (pictured above) and the southern Gandoca Manzanillo National Park. They have beautiful beaches and rainforest trails with excellent bird and wildlife watching opportunities. Or how about snorkeling in the crystal clear coral reefs nearby, learning to surf, or just riding a bicycle around the beach town.
DAYS 6-7
PUERTO VIEJO DE LIMON (B)
Days at leisure.
Enjoy the last days of your honeymoon doing what you love. Be it relaxing at the beach, the pool, in your bungalow. Or how about cooking Caribbean style with a local Afro-Caribbean family. An unforgettable and authentic experience. Or visit a local indigenous village of the Bribri tribe and learn about their culture. You decide!
DAY 8
PUERTO VIEJO – SAN JOSE (B)
Today your Costa Rica honeymoon adventure comes to an end. You will be taken back to San Jose airport for your departure flight. We hope you had a wonderful time in Costa Rica. Pura Vida!
