THIS MEXICO FAMILY VACATION IS FUN AND RELAXED
Enjoy Culture, Nature, and Relaxation on this Mexico Vacation with Your Family – On a Private Tour with English-Speaking Driver/Guide
The Yucatan Peninsula is one of Mexico’s best vacation destinations, and with good reason. Anchored by the stretch of coast along the Caribbean Sea called Riviera Maya, it offers just enough kid-friendly activities to balance lazy days lounging in the sun. Snorkeling is big here, as is sailing. Nature lovers will enjoy birdwatching and turtle nest observation experiences.
Our Mexico family vacation provides an excellent mix of culture, nature, adventure, and relaxation. It offers accommodation in local hotels, great excursions, and private transfers. No route planning and driving are necessary. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

DAY 1
CANCUN – VALLADOLID + CITY TOUR incl. CENOTE SWIM (-)
Individual arrival at the international airport in Cancun (CUN). Reception and private transfer of about 2 hrs to colonial Valladolid. Your city tour includes a visit to the beautiful Main Plaza and the Cathedral of San Gervasio (built in 1545 and rebuilt in the early 1700s). But swimming in the nearby cenote Zaci, a natural waterhole, is without a doubt one of the best things to do in Valladolid, and fun for the whole family.
DAY 2
VALLADOLID: FD TOUR RIO LAGARTOS (B)
Today an excursion through the Ria Lagartos Biosphere Reserve (about 1h 30min away) awaits you. The reserve protects nearly 150,000 acres of forest, dunes, mangroves, the largest estuary in the Yucatan peninsula, and beaches. The captain/guide will share his knowledge of the ecology of the area. 395 bird species have been identified here (flamingos, herons, eagles, pelicans) along with many species of mammals, reptiles, fish, and diverse flora. Later you can take a mud bath in fine white clay and enjoy a swim on an island beach.
DAY 3
VALLADOLID – CHICHEN ITZA – CENOTE YOKDZONOT – IZAMAL (B)
No visit to the Yucatan is complete without a guided tour of the biggest Maya site in Yucatan, Chichen Itza. Dominating the center of Chichén is the Temple of Kukulkan (the Maya name for Quetzalcoatl), often referred to as “El Castillo” (the castle). Later relax and swim at the nearby Yokdzonot cenote offering swimming, a zip line, and a playground.
DAY 4
CITY TOUR IZAMAL (B)
The City tour in Izamal includes a visit to the dominant Franciscan convent, the spacious main square bordered by the convent, and colonial buildings with arcades. During a leisurely horse carriage ride through the historical center of Izamal, you will visit various handicraft shops, where you can watch well-known artists at work. See how jewelry is made from local palm trees, butterflies, dragonflies, and fish are made with newspaper, and even learn about Mayan herbal medicine. Fascinating.
DAY 5
COOKING CLASS + CITY TOUR MERIDA (B)
Today a unique experience awaits you. After going shopping at a local market, you will prepare and eat a meal at a small, family-owned restaurant that operates out of their home. You can also observe as the family prepares other dishes for the day’s menu.
During the City Tour of beautiful Merida, you will see the huge cathedral, the episcopal seat, the Palacio Municipal, and the Casa de Montejo. French and Spanish influence can be felt anywhere in the city.
DAY 6
HENEQUEN HACIENDA SOTUTA + CENOTE SWIM (B)
Visit an 18th-century former Sisal Hacienda in the village of Sotuta. Sisal is a Mexican agave with large fleshy leaves, cultivated for fiber production. Learn about the henequen harvest and the transformation of the fiber into rope. It’s a journey back in time. Later, a horse-drawn carriage will take you through the plantations and to a typical Mayan house.
End your visit with a refreshing dip in a beautiful Cenote, a freshwater cave with crystal-clear waters.
DAY 7
IZAMAL – PUNTA LAGUNA – TULUM – AKUMAL (B)
Today you are heading towards the coast. Punta Laguna is a conservation area and offers many activities such as jungle walks with tropical birds, monkeys, canoeing in a lagoon, ziplining, abseiling, and swimming in a cenote. Fun for the whole family.
A visit to the beautifully located archaeological site Tulum south of Cancun, awaits you later in the day. Unlike all other Mayan sites, Tulum is located next to the ocean on the Riviera Maya, south of Cancun.
DAY 8-10

Restaurants, dive shops, and fun beach bars are nearby.
