Today you will start your sightseeing expedition of Panama’s amazing capital which was founded in 1519. The captivating backdrop of skyscrapers, noble mansions, and green hills will surely fascinate you.  The private tour with an English-speaking guide begins with a walking tour of the old town Casco Antiguo. Here you find some of the oldest architecture and buildings of the modern city.

During the tour, you will see many unique colonial buildings. Some of those are still largely original and others are nicely and colorfully restored. The historic Casco Antiguo is a UNESCO World Heritage site and has become the center of art, design, and cultural development. Many new bars, rooftop terraces, restaurants, and hotels have opened here. Later on, a drive down the Causeway will surprise you with an amazing view of the Panama City skyline before taking you to the Miraflores Locks. Here you will gain a first insight into the inner workings and dimensions of the famous Panama Canal. The viewing terrace offers a unique view of the locks and the ships that pass through the locks on their way to the Pacific or Atlantic. The Panama Canal is one of the most important waterways in the world. Each year around 14,000 ships transit the canal, which is about six percent of the world’s trade. In its museum, you will learn many interesting facts about the Canal. You finish the tour with a stop at the ruins of Panama Viejo (closed Mondays) which dates back to the 16th century. The tour ends at your hotel.

On your honeymoon in Panama, you will experience the simple hospitality of this proud indigenous tribe and enjoy a Caribbean island paradise. The autonomous region of Guna Yala (Guna territory, still also known as San Blas islands) stretches along the Panamanian Caribbean coast from El Porvenir to the Colombian border. Most of the tropical palm-seamed islands of the archipelago are protected by coral reefs. The underwater world has corals, lobsters, crabs, shells and colorful fish to explore. The crystal-clear water of the Caribbean is perfect to take a swim or go snorkeling. Last but not least you also receive authentic insights into the life of the Guna and their century-old customs and traditions. The tranquil atmosphere and the tropical surroundings remind you of the time of exploration and will inspire you immediately.

Early in the morning, our driver will take you from your hotel to the national airport where you will board a small plane to the tiny airstrip of Playon Chico located in the rainforest near the island of Yandup. From here you will reach Yandup island by boat. The island has a small beach with calm and crystal clear water. Electricity is available (almost) around the clock. Facilities include a restaurant/bar over the water and a small shop.

The rustic but exclusive (due to its location) lodge on a private island features ten bungalows, some of them are beachfront, others are over the water. The bungalows are kept in a natural and simple style but are quite cozy and comfortable. They are equipped with orthopedic mattresses, ceiling fans, mosquito nets and all have a private bathroom. They feature a patio to take in the gorgeous views and of course a hammock to enjoy the laid-back Caribbean feeling to the maximum.

The package includes three meals a day, usually consisting of rice, plantains, and fresh fish/seafood. Also, two daily trips to local communities or to one of the numerous idyllic beaches with snorkeling spots are included.

Please note: There are no luxury accommodations on the San Blas Islands. None of the lodges have air conditioning or television. They all are family-owned, simple but clean, and are built in the typical island style with thatched roofs.

Early in the morning, you will return to Panama City. Here our driver awaits you for the last but maybe most luxurious part of your honeymoon in Panama. A 2-hour private transfer will take you to the beautiful The Buenaventura Golf & Beach Resort.
