DAY 1
LIBERIA – LA FORTUNA / ARENAL VOLCANO (-)
Individual arrival at the international airport in Liberia (LIR). Reception and private transfer of about 2 hrs 30 min. La Fortuna is known as the gateway to Arenal Volcano National Park. Hot springs dot the foot of the volcano, on the thermal Tabacón River.
DAY 2
LA FORTUNA / ARENAL VOLCANO (B)
Day at leisure. Optional Tour: Sky Tram & Sky Trek Tour. Discover the Arenal volcano and lake in many different ways. Some will give you a personal experience with nature, others will get your adrenaline pumping. The Sky Tram gondolas rise smoothly through the rainforest, offering up endless views during their mountainous ascent. Afterward, the Sky Trek Tour awaits. Get your heart pounding by taking a zipline ride through the Costa Rican forest canopy.
We can organize plenty of other tours too: biking, a visit to a local indigenous community, canyoning, and lots more.
DAY 3
LA FORTUNA / ARENAL VOLCANO (B)
Day at leisure. Relaxing in the area’s hot springs is one of the highlights. Soak in the mineral-laden water surrounded by lush rainforest. Many springs have a wonderful view of Arenal Volcano!
Optional: Night Walk Tour at Arenal Natura Park. Explore the forested trails of this private nature reserve. Listen as the jungle comes alive with the activity of nocturnal animals like sloths, armadillos, night birds, and more than 20 species of frogs. Learn about the wildlife of the rainforest.
DAY 4
ARENAL / LA FORTUNA – MONTEVERDE (B)
This morning, you continue to Monteverde. You will be crossing Arenal Lake by boat. Look for birds, mammals, and views of the Arenal Volcano. Monteverde is home to one of the rarest habitats on Earth, the cloud forest, and an astounding variety of flora and fauna.
Optional: Don Juan Coffee, Chocolate & Sugarcane Tour. Learn step by step about the procedure involved in the production of coffee. Tasting included. The farm has a typical ox-drawn cart that you can take a ride in. You will also receive an introduction to chocolate and sugarcane production.
DAY 5
MONTEVERDE (B)
Day at leisure.
Optional: Experience the misty cloud forest from the famous Suspension Bridges of Selvatura. Observe the endemic biodiversity of the cloud forest canopy. The treetop walkways provide the best vantage point to observe the beauty of the cloud forest in all its levels. Later you will visit a Reptile and Amphibiens Exhibition. You will be able to observe some of the most beautiful live specimens of lizards, snakes, and frogs gathered from all over Costa Rica.
DAY 6
MONTEVERDE – POTRERO (B)
Today you will travel to the Pacific Ocean side of Costa Rica, private transfer of about 3 hrs.
Playa Potrero is tranquil and serene. It is located along the northwest Pacific coast of Guanacaste, surrounded by rolling hills, tropical vegetation, and diverse wildlife. Enjoy swimming, snorkeling, or kayaking on the three local beaches: Pietra, la Penca, and Potrero, perfect for people seeking calm beach activities.
DAY 7
POTRERO (B)
Day at leisure to enjoy the hotel, pool, beach, or activities.
Potrero is a rural town that embraces the old Costa Rican coast villages style. The main feature of this town is its inherent and simple beauty. The road remains unpaved because the locals choose it to stay that way; on Sundays, you can still see children playing soccer in ‘la plaza’ and the locals going to church. Hotels or massive developments didn’t find their way to the coastline yet.

POTRERO – AIRPORT LIBERIA (B)

Lomas del Volcán is a nice hotel complex with a wonderful view of the volcano Arenal. It is a peaceful place, but at the same time, it has proven in the past that under its smooth surface the earth is still a living planet. Enjoy the moment and watch toucans and hummingbirds foraging for food. This beautiful site, just a few minutes from the village, is ideal for relaxing and resting, a real oasis of peace and tranquillity! If you have a passion for volcanoes, natural history, geology, plants, and birds and you like the scent of moss and refreshing rainforest, the Lomas del Volcan is a must on your Costa Rica trip!
The wooden standard bungalows transmit a cozy, homely atmosphere. They are spacious and offer two Queen-size beds. All rooms have two terraces, so you have rainforest views from one of them and volcano views from the other one. They are well distributed on the property and very private. You will feel like you are alone in your own little cabin in a small volcano village.
Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge **(*)
This is a very accommodating nice lodge, great for nature lovers and for people who enjoy life. Guests of the Cloud Forest Lodge will love its tranquil and organic ambiance and outdoor accessibility. Around 5 km of trails extend all over the forested property, where at least 180 species of birds have been seen. Visitors can traverse natural reserves and while doing so search for bare-necked umbrella-birds, three-toed sloths, white-faced monkeys, and more. Trips to the butterfly and orchid gardens can be arranged, as well as a visit to the Cheese Factory, where visitors can learn about the fascinating history of this region and sample local cheese and ice cream.
The Family Room was specially designed for you to spend time with your family in such a terrific location. It offers one or two Queen-size beds, a single bed, and a sofabed. You will feel safe and will be grateful that you can have enough space for yourself and your loved ones.
Bahia del Sol ***(*)
This pleasant hotel is located right on the quiet sandy beach of Potrero. Great views of the Pacific Ocean and romantic sunsets are part of what you can expect from a stay in Bahía del Sol. Another one of the assets of this boutique hotel is the incredibly friendly staff willing to go out of their way to help you out in whatsoever you need.
Gorgeous scenery on a well-maintained property with crabs and iguanas that roam around. Lounging chairs in the lawns are a fantastic place to unwind you can face them towards the Pacific ocean and listen to the waves come in. Cheerful and relaxing hours can be spent at the swim-up bar.
At the elegant open-air restaurant ¨Nasu¨, you may choose between traditional Costa Rican cooking with original local products or international gourmet dishes, served with a tropical touch. A walk through a botanical garden leads the guests to their rooms. Enjoy the sunset in lush surroundings.
The Family Suite is an excellent option for families with kids as there are two bedrooms with a separate bathroom each.
